Send your first notification
Renotify sends customer notifications when something happens in your business: a payment falls due, an order ships, an appointment is booked. You tell Renotify what happened; an automation decides who hears about it, on which channel, and what to say.
This guide takes you from a new workspace to a delivered message. You need a Renotify account and a phone with WhatsApp to receive the test.
-
Connect a WhatsApp number.
Go to Settings → Channels and choose Connect WhatsApp. You’ll connect through SendSeven, our WhatsApp partner, and sign in with your Meta Business account, then come straight back. When the number shows as Connected, you’re ready.
Add SMS or Email on the same page if you want a fallback for customers who aren’t on WhatsApp. See Channels.
-
Install an automation from a template.
Go to Automations → Start from a template and pick Payment reminder. It listens for the
payment.dueevent, sends a reminder on WhatsApp with SMS and email as fallbacks, waits three days and sends a follow-up. Its goal ispayment.completed, so the reminders stop as soon as the customer pays.Installing creates the automation as a Draft and submits its WhatsApp templates to Meta for approval. Approval usually takes minutes.
-
Try it on yourself.
Open the automation and choose Test run. Pick yourself as the contact (add yourself under Audience → Contacts first if you aren’t there). A test run works on drafts and sends real messages, so you’ll see exactly what a customer sees.
-
Go live.
Choose Go live. If anything would stop messages being delivered, such as a missing channel, the automation tells you what to fix first.
-
Send the event from your system.
Create an API key under Settings → Developers → API keys with the create permission, then send the event:
Terminal window curl https://renotify.app/api/v1/events \-H "Authorization: Bearer $RENOTIFY_API_KEY" \-H "Content-Type: application/json" \-H "Idempotency-Key: invoice-1042-due" \-d '{"name": "payment.due","contact": { "external_id": "cus_1042", "phone": "+15551234567", "name": "Jane Doe" },"data": { "amount": "$120.00", "due_date": "1 October", "pay_url": "https://pay.example.com/inv-1042" }}'await fetch('https://renotify.app/api/v1/events', {method: 'POST',headers: {Authorization: `Bearer ${process.env.RENOTIFY_API_KEY}`,'Content-Type': 'application/json','Idempotency-Key': 'invoice-1042-due',},body: JSON.stringify({name: 'payment.due',contact: { external_id: 'cus_1042', phone: '+15551234567', name: 'Jane Doe' },data: { amount: '$120.00', due_date: '1 October', pay_url: 'https://pay.example.com/inv-1042' },}),});Http::withToken(env('RENOTIFY_API_KEY'))->withHeaders(['Idempotency-Key' => 'invoice-1042-due'])->post('https://renotify.app/api/v1/events', ['name' => 'payment.due','contact' => ['external_id' => 'cus_1042', 'phone' => '+15551234567', 'name' => 'Jane Doe'],'data' => ['amount' => '$120.00', 'due_date' => '1 October', 'pay_url' => 'https://pay.example.com/inv-1042'],]);Renotify answers

Watch it happen.
Reports → Message log shows every attempt: which channel was tried, whether it was delivered and read, and if it failed, why and what to do about it.
